We know that choosing a publishing partner is a big decision. Below are answers to some of the most common questions we receive. If you still have questions after reviewing, we’d love to connect!
How long does the publishing process take?
Our publishing process spans approximately 9–12 months from contract to release.
This includes editing, design, production, and a 3–4 month preorder period.
Do I retain the rights to my book?
Yes. You retain 100% ownership of your work.
DPPH manages the publishing and distribution rights on your behalf but does not own or control your intellectual property.
How are royalties paid?
Authors receive 70% of net royalties, paid quarterly.
Net royalties are calculated after retailer and distributor fees are deducted.
Do you accept every manuscript submitted?
No. Every book is vetted for alignment with the heart, mission, and publishing standards of our house.
We only publish titles we believe in and can support with excellence.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Payment plan options are available after your manuscript has been accepted and your publishing agreement is finalized.
What genres do you accept?
We publish:
- Memoirs and poetry that give voice to survivors (Vital Voice)
- Fiction that stirs the soul and uplifts the human spirit (Shed Light Publishing)
- Heart-centered children’s books that inspire and teach (DPP Kids)
- Select nonfiction works aligned with the mission and vision of DPPH
