Meet the Founder

Hi, I’m LaShawn Dobbs—the heart behind Divine Purpose Publishing House.

Divine Purpose Publishing House was not simply a business idea; it was born from a deep sense of calling. In 2013, following a life-changing encounter with God, I received both the name Divine Purpose Publishing and the vision that would guide its formation. What began as DPP has since evolved into Divine Purpose Publishing House (DPPH)—a creative home where stories are stewarded with care, voices are honored, and messages are released with intention.

My journey in publishing began with my own story—one shaped by healing, transformation, and the reclamation of voice. That personal process revealed the many challenges authors face: navigating a complex publishing landscape, finding trustworthy collaborators, and ensuring their work is handled with excellence and integrity. DPPH was created in response to that need—a relational alternative rooted in care, clarity, and partnership.

At the heart of my work is the belief that publishing is not merely about producing books, but about stewarding messages that carry meaning and impact. Through DPPH, I have had the privilege of walking alongside authors, creatives, and visionaries as their stories took form across books and other creative expressions.

Beyond publishing, I cherish time with my family—my husband, children, grandchildren, and our beloved grand dog, Grace. I find joy in journaling, quiet reflection, and savoring moments that remind me of the beauty woven throughout life’s journey.

Divine Purpose Publishing House remains a reflection of this path—one shaped by purpose, relationship, and the belief that stories deserve to be held with care.
