Recently while being prayerful about changes for DPP in 2018. The scripture in Colossians 3:23 continued to appear. I felt Holy Spirit blowing on this scripture as the one to use as DPP’s commitment to our authors. Truthfully, I struggled with it. I placed it on the website and then I took it down.
Please hear me out. I desire to be transparent because I believe this truth will help those who have previously been hurt, misled and abused by a publisher.
It was never that I did not want to make the commitment to God. I struggled with this and took it down because I felt as though it was too easy to just plaster on our website without allowing the truth of this scripture to permeate.
If I’m to be real, I then thought about my humanity and how there are times when I don’t treat others as I would treat Christ. That was a hard pill to swallow. So, yes, the struggle was real when making this commitment because, what if we fail? We want to make good on every word we speak and every post published.
Thoughts racing, and then God steps in to remind me, He wouldn’t ask us to commit to something He has not graced us to do. Even with a commitment like this, it’s all about His grace, not our perfection. He has extended His grace to us so that we can do as our heart desires and that is to “put our heart and soul into every activity we do, as though we are doing it for the Lord himself and not merely for others.” And if at any time we forget, we know Holy Spirit will bring this scripture back to our remembrance.
DiViNE Purpose Publishing Co. will put our heart and soul into every manuscript published, as though we are doing it for the Lord himself and not merely others. We at DPP will only partner with businesses, freelancers and authors who are willing to commit to doing the same. We will extend grace as God has and continues to extend grace to us.
Colossians 3:23 TPT Put your heart and soul into every activity you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord himself and not merely for others.
This is beautiful. In the time I’ve had the pleasure of working with you, I see this in everything you do. You are a woman of excellence. One who seeks to please the Father above anything else and to live (and do business) in a way that is pleasing to Him. Praying Papa richly blesses DPP in the coming season and that it flourishes under your divinely inspired commitment to excellence and above all His will.
